Bangladesh set New Zealand a target of 237 runs to win

RAWALPINDI: In the sixth match of the Champions Trophy, Bangladesh set a target of 237 runs for New Zealand to win. The match is being played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, where New Zealand won the toss and chose to field first.

Bangladesh, batting first, scored 236 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Bangladesh’s captain, Najmul Hossain Shanto, was the top scorer with 77 runs, while Zakir Ali scored 45 runs. Additionally, Rishad Hossain made 26 runs, Tanzid Hasan scored 24, Mehedi Hasan Miraz contributed 13, and Taskin Ahmed added 10 runs.

For New Zealand, Michael Bracewell took 4 wickets and Will Young claimed 2 wickets.

It is noteworthy that New Zealand defeated Pakistan in their first match.

After consecutive losses to New Zealand and India, Pakistan’s hopes of reaching the semifinals now rely on a technical possibility, which depends on the results of the remaining matches.

For Pakistan to have a chance, they must win their next match against Bangladesh on February 27 in Rawalpindi by a large margin. Additionally, New Zealand must lose both of their remaining matches by a significant margin for Pakistan’s team to have any chance of progressing in the tournament, which seems quite difficult.
