Barack Obama holds farewell meeting with Angela Merkel

BERLIN: United States outgoing President Barack Obama held farewell meeting with German Chancellor Angela Markel and said that US will continue cooperation with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) despite change in White House.

Obama said that he had informed Donald Trump, the newly elected president of US that there was a difference between election campaign and to run the government. While  German Chancellor Angela Markel was of the view that they would continue cooperation with the US against Daish.

According to the US TV, Barack Obama held farewell meeting with German Chancellor Angela Markel and discussed operations against Daish in Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries. Obama siad in a joint press conference that they talked about sanction on Russia in connection with Ukraine and Syrian issues. He said that Trump had a little political experience but he was told that NATO alliance was very important for US. Obama said that government should not be put on risk over relations with Russia. He continued that operations against terrorist organizations in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and other countries will be brought to their logical ends. German Chancellor Angela Markel said that they would cooperate with the newly elected president of US, Donald Trump.
