Karachi: Former Test Cricketer Basit Ali decided to resign as Head Coach of Women Cricket Team and headship of junior selection committee.
Basit said in a statement that he could not work with Pakistan Cricket Board. It is pertinent to mention here that Basit Ali had reportedly slapped former cricketer Muhammad Hamid two days ago.
Earlier, PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan had said that physical abuse was unacceptable to the board and continued that strict action will be taken against Ali, if he was proven guilty.
Basit Ali took the decision after apologizing for slapping former international cricketer Mahmood Hamid.
