Bear prevails at PSX as Index lost 553.76 points

KARACHI:  The bearish trend prevailed at Pakistan Stock Exchange on Wednesday as the benchmark KSE-100 index lost 553.76 points, or -1.11 per cent.

At close of Wednesday trading the KSE-100 index stood fell to 49,214.15 points.

During the day some 473.9 million shares changed had hands, with a total worth of Rs 21.9 billion.

Stocks of 399 companies were traded, of which 105 gained in value, 277 declined and 17 remained unchanged.

Some of the market participants link the selling spree with the mounting concerns over the liquidity crunch following the SECP’s crackdown on in-house financing.
