KARACHI: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has dismissed reports regarding his engagement and marriage. In a video statement, Bilawal emphasized that any major decisions in his personal life would be announced by his family.
Addressing social media speculation, Bilawal said that it has falsely claimed he is engaged or married, adding that he does not even know anyone named Princess Gloria. He stated that the social media buzz is simply a spectacle aimed at diverting public attention from real issues.
Bilawal also criticized the government, mentioning the tragic loss of 14 children in the PIMS hospital incident in the capital and criticizing a minister he alleged wants to break Pakistan into three parts. He accused the minister of being unable to manage a hospital and of instructing businessmen in Lahore to create and run new provinces.
The PPP chairman further remarked that this minister is making such statements while Sindh Assembly is taking a courageous stand on the issue.
Earlier, reports circulated that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former President Asif Ali Zardari were in Vienna to discuss a potential engagement with a family from Austria. Rumors suggest that Bilawal’s alleged bride hails from the former Habsburg-Lorraine royal family of Austria, with some reports linking her to the last Austrian Emperor, Karl I.
