Billion rupees worth railway land successfully reclaimed: Hanif Abbasi

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Railways, Hanif Abbasi, announced that the government has successfully reclaimed billions of rupees worth of railway land and is actively working on modernizing railway stations nationwide.

During a “Meet the Press” session, Abbasi stressed that the advancement of Pakistan Railways is crucial to the country’s overall progress. He outlined ongoing efforts to upgrade the railway infrastructure, enhance track conditions, and ensure more efficient operations. Abbasi assured that train schedules will be strictly adhered to, with no room for delays, and praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his unwavering commitment to improving railway services, acknowledging the PM’s appreciation of his efforts.

The minister also pointed out notable improvements in passenger amenities, including the installation of information desks at stations, the introduction of train hostesses, and better quality food services on platforms. He added that any video complaints received regarding railway issues are promptly addressed, demonstrating the department’s responsiveness.

Furthermore, Abbasi emphasized the importance of cleanliness, especially in washrooms and other facilities, to enhance passenger experience.On a wider note, Abbasi highlighted Pakistan’s firm stance against Indian aggression, taking pride in the country’s historic victories. He also revealed plans to construct a gym at the National Press Club next year, with a proposed budget of Rs 100 million, and mentioned that the Prime Minister has already been briefed on this project.
