Bollywood legend Dharmendra, the He-Man of Indian cinema passes away at 89

WEB DESK: India is grieving the loss of a cinematic icon, Dharmendra, who passed away on Monday at the age of 89.

The legendary actor, fondly called Dharam Paaji, breathed his last at his Mumbai home after weeks of battling respiratory issues.

Earlier in the month, Dharmendra was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital following complaints of breathing difficulties. He underwent treatment for several days and was discharged on November 12.

Upon his return, the Deol family released a heartfelt statement, requesting privacy and expressing gratitude to fans and the media for their prayers. They urged the public to refrain from speculation and give the actor time to rest and recover peacefully.

At the time of his discharge, Dr. Rajiv Sharma from Breach Candy Hospital had shared that Dharmendra left in stable condition and was “fully satisfied” with the care provided. He expressed optimism, hoping the veteran star would celebrate his next birthday. However, despite medical efforts and the family’s care, Dharmendra could not overcome his health challenges.
