Bollywood Star Amitabh Bachchan Turns 76 Today

New Delhi (October 11, 2018): Bollywood’s legendary star Amitabh Bachchan turns 76 today. With a career span of over 4 decades, the actor has a special place in people hearts and continues to rule the Hindi film industry.

Big B will next be seen in ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ and ‘Brahmastra’. The legendary actor has starred in several blockbuster films and has entertained people for years.

The actor made his debut with Saat Hindustani in 1969 and as they say, the rest is history. The actor, singer, producer and TV host has acted in over 190 films in a span of 48 years. With his baritone, fierce eyes and those looks to kill, it comes as no surprise that Bachchan is often labelled as the ‘Star of the Millenium.’ Even today, fans and movie buffs can’t help but rewatch Big-B’s movies like Deewar, Zanjeer and Agneepath on repeat.It was during the 70s that Bachchan experienced his careers best phase. It was dominance over the industry that made French director Francois Truffaut call him a ‘one-man industry.’

With 4 National Film Awards for his spectacular performances, 15 Filmfare Awards Big B has also been conferred with the Padma Shri in 1984, Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015 for his contribution to arts. That’s not it, the Government of France has also honoured him the highest civilian honour, Knight of the Legion of Honour for his exceptional career in the world of cinema.
