Peshawar: A suicide blast in the limits of Jamrod Ali Mosque martyrs additional SHO in district Khyber of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), KP police reported.
According to police additional SHO Adnan Afridi martyred in the blast. The martyred additional SHO had gone to mosque for offering Asar prayers.
Station House Officer (SHO) Gul Wali said that Additional SHO Adnan Afridi was martyred in the explosion.
Later, Inspector General (IG) police KP apprised that according to initial investigation the blast was suicide.
As per the police, the blast took place when a suicide bomber hid inside the mosque after he saw police personnel.
Moreover, the building of the mosque collapsed due to the blast. However, it was empty at the time of the incident, an eye-witnesses said.
The security forces and police cordoned off the area soon after the deadly incident.
