Bullish trend at PSX on year’s first trading day

KARACHI: Pakistan Stock Exchange opened the first trading day with bull run, as its benchmark KSE-100 index crossed the psychological barrier of 48,000.

The index closed at 48240.28 points with positive change of 433.31 points.   The total volume traded was 181,425,940 shares.

During the trade, the index hit the highest level of 48357.57. Total volume traded in the market was 376,687,770 shares with 405 total traded companies out of which 244 were up 143 were down and 18 were unchanged.

Commercial banks led the rally with total traded volume of 66,455,100 shares. It was followed by engineering sector with a total traded volume of 57,782,600 shares.

Analysts attribute the bullish trend with the anticipated positive results of different sector. They said that the investors anticipating positives results of different sectors were taking interest in buying shares.
