QUETTA: The Election Commission has announced the schedule for the by-election in NA-256 Khuzdar, which became vacant following the resignation of former National Assembly member Akhtar Mengal.
According to the Election Commission, the polling will take place on April 5. The deadline for submitting nomination papers is set from February 20 to February 24, and the preliminary list of candidates will be issued on February 25.
The verification of nomination papers is scheduled to be completed by March 4. Following this, candidates will be provided with electoral symbols on March 18 to enable them to start their campaigns.
The Election Commission assured that all electoral procedures will be conducted transparently and on time to ensure the people of Khuzdar receive their representation promptly. The by-election is expected to attract considerable attention from political parties.
