ISLAMABAD: A Chartered Accountancy student was shot dead after allegedly resisting a robbery attempt at a park in Sector G-13 on Monday, police said.
The victim was identified as Abdullah Ahmed. According to Islamabad Police, armed robbers opened fire on the young man before fleeing the scene.
A case has been registered at Sumbal Police Station, while police teams have launched efforts to trace and arrest the suspects. Authorities said all available resources were being utilised to bring the attackers to justice.
Wanted Suspect Held in Islamabad
In a separate development, Karachi Company Police arrested a proclaimed offender allegedly wanted in connection with a Rs52.5 million cheque dishonour case.
Police said multiple cases had been registered against the suspect at seven police stations across Islamabad. He was also wanted by Kohsar, Margalla, Shalimar and Humak police in cases involving alleged financial fraud amounting to millions of rupees.
Further investigation into the arrested suspect is underway.
