Cabinet approves electoral reforms amendments, repatriation of Afghan refugees

ISLAMABAD: Federal cabinet has sanctioned a number of important projects including amendments made in electoral reforms, transplantation of human organs, scheme for medical treatment of poor, and repatriation of Afghan refugees. It also decided to put the issue pertaining to formation of accountability commission and enhancing number of electoral constituencies till after the completion of population census.

The meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approved 30 points of the 32-point agenda that came up for discussion earlier today which also included increasing the financial compensation for those effected by Indian firing along the Working Boundary.

The agenda pertaining to build 200, 250, and 500-bed hospitals under the Health Infrastructure and Development Management Company was also put on hold. Directing the Health Ministry to send the summary again the prime minister said that the previous government paid no attention to hospitals and medical treatment of the people but his government is determined to provide the best possible medical facilities to the people.

The federal cabinet also approved foreign commercial loans, memorandum of understanding with several countries in various sectors, and National School of Public Policy Rules 2017.
