Islamabad: Federal cabinet on Friday approved restoration of diplomatic relations with Iran.
Caretaker Premier Anwar Ul Haq presided the National Security and cabinet meetings separately today.
National Security Meeting
In the National Security meeting Chief of Army Staff (COAS) other chiefs of Air, Naval, Chairman Joint Chief of Staf Committee (CJCSC) Shamshad Mira, Interim Foreign Minister, Finance Minister, high officers of of the intelligence agencies were in attendance.
The meeting deliberated upon tension between Pakistan and Iran while interim Foreign Minister Jalil Abbass Jillani breifed the meeting about diplomatic front on the issue.
On the other hand high millitary officials breifed in detail about Pak-Iran border situation.
Sources said that the meeting paid rich tribute to armed forces over an imperative action against Irani aggression.
The NSC meeting reiterated protection of the country security and soverignity at all cost.
The PM on the occasion said that our response based on effective and aimed at achieving the target adding that Pakistan is a peaceful country and we wanted to live every neighbor with peace.
Federal Cabinet Meeting
Later, the PM chaired the federal cabinet meeting which endorsed the decisions of the National Security Committee meeting.
Sources said that the cabinet has apporved restoration of diplomatic relations with Iran.
The PM apprised the cabinet meeting that Iran took wrong measure and it was reciprocated, now Iran wanted to end recent escalation while the cabinet member also agreed that they did’nt want to disrupt the relations.
They said that Pakistan doesn’t want escalation with any neighboring country.
