Caretaker PM lays floral wreath at martyrs’ monument in Gilgit, later attends briefing from CM

Skardu: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar laid floral wreath at the martyrs’ monument at the Chief Minister Secretariat in Gilgit today and offered fateha.On the occasion, guard of honor was presented to the Prime Minister.

During his two-day visit, the Prime Minister will hold meetings with the Governor and the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan.

In addition, the Prime Minister will also chair a meeting to review progress on ongoing development schemes as well as law and order situation in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar will also meet the political leadership of Gilgit and Hunza and local notables.

Governor Gilgit Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah called on Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar in Gilgit today.

During the meeting the Governor thanked the Prime Minister for taking special interest in the development of GB and visiting the area.

Syed Mehdi Shah briefed the Prime Minister about the administrative affairs and law and order situation of Gilgit Baltistan.

Meanwhile, Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister Gulbar Khan also called on Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar in Gilgit .

During the meeting, the Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister about the progress of the ongoing development projects in Gilgit.

The Chief Minister also briefed on the government’s initiatives for the development of public welfare projects in Gilgit-Baltistan, especially the health and education sectors.

He also apprised the Prime Minister about government’s initiatives for the promotion of tourism in Gilgit Baltistan.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed about the progress in IT, health and other sectors.

The meeting was informed that many problems of the education sector have been timely identified and effectively solved in all the districts of Gilgit-Baltistan, especially in Diamir and Astore. 

It was told that a 24-hour helpline has been established in Gilgit-Baltistan for the prevention of mental disorders.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister was also informed about the constructive steps taken in the environmental and tourism sectors. 

The Chief Minister presented the Prime Minister a traditional attire of Gilgit Baltistan.

The PM chaired a briefing regarding progress on development projects and law and order situation in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Prime Minister said protection of all citizens of Pakistan is responsibility of the State.

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar directed the authorities concerned to timely identify all the elements involved in spreading anarchy in the name of religion in Gilgit and take strict measures against them.
