CDF Munir vows to strengthen Pakistan-Libya ties

RAWALPINDI: Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with Libya, as per the military’s media wing.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated that Libyan Armed Forces Commander Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar and Deputy Commander Lt Gen Saddam Haftar met CDF Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi.

Both sides discussed mutual interests, focusing on regional security and professional cooperation. The discussions highlighted the importance of collaboration between Pakistan and Libya’s armed forces.

CDF Munir welcomed the visitors, reiterating Pakistan’s support for Libya’s peace, stability, and institutional growth. The meeting reflected the friendly relations between both nations.

Upon arrival at Noor Khan Airbase, Field Marshal Haftar was received by CDF Munir and later paid tribute to martyrs at GHQ.

In December, Pakistan signed a $4 billion deal to supply conventional military equipment to the Libyan Army, marking one of its largest arms sales.
