Karachi: An accountability court of Karachi on Monday heard the reference pertaining to illegal recruitments in Pakistan State Oil (PSO) while ex-premier Shahid Khaqan Abbassi appeared before the court.
During the course of the hearing the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor insisted the court to give him time for responding on the petition of former Managing Director (MD) PSO.
The court granting the NAB prosecutor time adjourned the hearing till March 2.
Talking to media outside the AC court, the PML-N stalwart and ex-premier Shahid Khaqan Abbassi said that according to the report submitted in the Public Accounts Committee, politicians are the most corrupt.
Shahid Khaqan Abbassi said that the graft buster body has recovered highest recovery from housing societies while he demanded that Chairman NAB should inform about their assets before leaving the post.
He said that the the performance of the government can be gauged from the fact that former chief justice Gulzar Ahmed had to write a letter to the government for his security.
He asked that who will provide justice to people who bought flats in the Nasla Tower in Karachi adding that it is a responsbility of judiciary and the Sindh government.
Former premier said that Yousuf Raza Gillani including other members should have attended the senate session on the time of voting for SBP amendment while he said that such clauses were included in the SBP bill that they could provide information to the IMF without informing masses.
