Multan: Chairman Senate and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Yousuf Raza Gillani has received a threatening phone on a day when by-elections are being held in his constituency NA-148 Multan.
An First Information Report (FIR) has been registered on a complaint of his son Ali Mosa Gillani in the police station Cant.
The police apprised that it have traced the threatening phone call. While search is on for apprehending the culprit.
On the other hand, counting of vote is underway in a by-election at NA-148 Multan while PPP Ali Qasim Gillani and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) Barrister Taimour Altaf Malik were main contenders.
The seat was lied vacant after winner of the seat Yousuf Raza Gillani elected Chairman senate.
Voting continued from 8 am to 5 pm uninterrupted.
