Child Gone Missing Four Years Ago, Produced Before SHC

KARACHI: Police during a hearing of 18 missing children case on Thursday produced a child who went missing about four years ago before Sindh High Court (SHC).

As per details, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) told the court that the missing child who is identified as Hasnain was living with a Hindu family since past two years. Later on, he stayed at the home of a police officer for two years. He confessed that he left his home upon the torture of his stepmother.

At this, the SHC’s Justice Naimat Ullah Phulpoto in his remarks said that the child has been forced by the police to record a fake statement before the court. The court also expressed its anger towards the police’s incompetence over a huge number of missing kids.

The court also termed the story factious which was told by the returned child Hasnain. The court then ordered to file a correct report about the matter and also ordered to recover the remaining 17 children and adjourned the case’s hearing until an indefinite period of time.
