Karachi: Intense cold temperature has claimed 44 lives of people deprived of shelters of home since December 2024.
Out of 44 deaths , 13 were drug addicts who lost their lives owing to extreme cold .
According to rescue officials the deceased had not warm cloths, beds and blankets for combatting intensive chilling cold weather.
They said that drug addicts increased their drug intake to avoid cold.
Uptick of quantity of drugs and decreasing temperature are main cause of the deaths, the rescue official said.
They added that the drug addicts having no home could not be identified as well.
