Chinese tariffs to take effect, ratcheting up trade war with U.S.

BEJING: China has implemented tit-for-tat import taxes on some American goods, effective Monday, in response to the ongoing trade tensions with the United States.

US President Donald Trump had previously threatened to impose tariffs on countries that do not comply with the US-China trade deal, prompting China to retaliate with its own tariffs on select American goods.

China unveiled the plan on 4 February, immediately after the US implemented new 10% tariffs on all Chinese goods.

According to International media, Chinese authorities will receive 10 to 15 percent tariffs on the municipalities sent from the United States from February 10 to China.

Imported coal and gas products from the United States will receive 15 % levy, while 10 % tariff will be received on US imported oil and auto plates.

It should be noted that, On Sunday President Trump said, he would impose 25% tariff on all steel and aluminium imports into the US.
