ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Jiang Zaidong, paid a visit to Air Headquarters in Islamabad, where he held a detailed meeting with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force.
The two leaders discussed a wide range of issues, including strategic defence cooperation, regional security dynamics, and institutional engagements.The discussions emphasized the importance of unified and collaborative strategies in addressing emerging security challenges.
Both sides agreed on the necessity of maintaining high operational readiness and ensuring swift coordination in the evolving geopolitical environment of the region.Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu warmly welcomed the ambassador and reaffirmed the deep-rooted and historic ties between Pakistan and China.He referred to the bilateral relationship as one between “Iron Brothers,” highlighting the enduring trust, strategic alignment, and mutual commitment to peace and stability in the region.
He expressed appreciation for China’s consistent support, particularly in defence modernization, technology transfer, human resource development, and joint research initiatives.Both dignitaries agreed to institutionalize regular high-level exchanges, expand joint operational exercises, and explore multilateral cooperation frameworks to enhance collective response to regional threats.
The Chinese Ambassador praised the operational excellence of the Pakistan Air Force during recent tensions on the eastern border, calling it a testament to the PAF’s professionalism and preparedness.
He commended the effective use of Chinese equipment by PAF and acknowledged the force’s growing reliance on indigenous technological solutions under current leadership.He assured China’s continued technical support to strengthen Pakistan’s aerial defence capabilities and applauded the PAF’s focus on self-reliance, which he noted was beginning to show significant results.
