Meanwhile, special security measures have been taken around churches in the country to avoid any untoward incident.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the Christian community in Pakistan on the joyous occasion of Easter.
In his message, he said our Constitution guarantees rights of minorities and we will continue to work for the uplift and empowerment of all minorities in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his message, paid tribute to the invaluable contributions of Christian community, both in the historic struggle for the creation of Pakistan and in its continued socio-economic progress.
He expressed confidence that Christian community would remain active participant in shaping a more inclusive, prosperous and united Pakistan.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar extended greetings to Christian community on the occasion of Easter.
Speaking at an Easter event in Lahore today, he said community is also playing a vital role in the development and progress of Pakistan.
Information Minister said Pakistan is moving toward economic progress and development and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has put the country’s economy on the path of development.
Information Minister said Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is serving people of the province and has broken records of public service.
He said “Uraan Pakistan” program is a project for country’s development and prosperity.
He said international financial institutions are acknowledging Pakistan’s economic progress and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir has played a significant role in the country’s progress.
