Civil Defense fully prepared as India-Pakistan standoff deepens

RAWALPINDI: Amidst heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, the Civil Defense Department in Rawalpindi is taking proactive measures to ensure public safety and preparedness for any potential conflict. Officials confirm that all necessary safety arrangements have been completed, and practical training for civil defense volunteers has commenced.

As part of these preparations, 38 warning posts have been established across the district, and sirens have been activated at 16 key locations to alert the public in case of an emergency.

In a significant development, Civil Defense Officer Talib Hussain announced that for the first time, combat and rescue training for female volunteers has also begun. This initiative aims to enhance the overall capacity and inclusivity of the civil defense force.

Talib Hussain further stated that, practical combat and rescue training is currently underway for 3500 volunteers across Rawalpindi district. These essential training exercises are being conducted at multiple locations, including the premises of Cantt Police Station, Mission School Raja Bazaar, and the Civil Defense Head Office.

The training focuses on equipping volunteers with vital skills for emergency response, including combat techniques and rescue operations.

The comprehensive training program and infrastructure development highlight the Civil Defense Department’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Rawalpindi’s citizens in the face of the current tense situation with India.
