Islamabad: Chief Justice Justice Qazi Faez Isa on Monday hinted at to form a larger bench of the SC in the election case.
A three member bench of SC headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, Justice Amin Uddin Khan and Justice Athar Minallah heard the case.
The Supreme Court bar association and PTI and others have filed petitions for holding the general elections in 90 days.
The CJ asked the petitioner “Just tell me do you want election or not? giving date of the election was authority of President or the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)? “
The SC issued notices to the federal government and the ECP.
The court in its order said that the ECP started delimitation of the constituencies while it was informed that the delimitation process will be completed till December 14.
The order further stated that the petitioners are not satisfied on the census and the process of delimitation.
The petitioners said that all the process is an excuse of delaying the elections,order said.
They said that holding of elections within 90 days after end of the elected government is a constitutional necessity.
The hearing was prorogued till November 2.
