WEB DESK: General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), paid a courtesy call on Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Uzbekistan.
During an official visit to Uzbekistan, He also met with Major General Shukhrat Kholmukhamedov, Minister of Defence, and Lieutenant General Victor Makhmudov, Secretary of the National Security Council.
The discussions focused on the shifting regional and international geopolitical and security landscape, with an emphasis on areas of mutual interest. Both parties expressed hope to enhance cooperation in various fields, including defense, security, transportation infrastructure like roads and railways, and other collaborative efforts.
General Mirza reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong and brotherly relationship with Uzbekistan, emphasizing their shared dedication to fostering regional peace, stability, and economic development. The Uzbek leadership praised the professionalism and dedication of Pakistan’s armed forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
