ISLAMABAD: General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), emphasized Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to fostering peace and stability in the region during the closing ceremony of the Islamabad Symposium 2025 held at NUST.
Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, General Mirza underscored Pakistan’s proactive and constructive efforts in encouraging dialogue and understanding between the Global North and South. He stressed the importance of replacing confrontation with cooperation, advocating for a foreign policy rooted in mutual respect and adherence to international law.
The CJCSC reiterated Pakistan’s firm stance on supporting peaceful resolutions to long-standing conflicts, including those involving Palestine and Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted that Pakistan’s approach is driven by a vision of diplomacy based on dignity, principled engagement, and peaceful coexistence.
The symposium, organized by the National Institute of Policy Studies (NIPS) at NUST, was attended by a diverse assembly of diplomats, scholars, government officials, business executives, and students from prominent universities, all united in the pursuit of regional peace and stability.
