CJP Asks Private School Owners To Surrender License If Want Rise In Fees

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Asif Saeed Khosa on Tuesday observed that if private school owners want 5 percent rise in school fee yearly than they should adopt some other business as schools are not made to do business.

A three-member bench of the court headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa heard the case pertaining to the schools’ fees and adjourned the case till Wednesday.

As the hearing went underway, the CJP remarked that private school owners should try some other business as schools are not made to do business.

During the hearing, the parents maintained the stance that private schools are continuously violating the apex court orders, added that the owners of private schools are very much powerful.

“It’s the responsibility of the state to provide education and to regulate private schools,” the CJP observed.

Private schools counsel said that private schools have fulfilled the gap of education facility as the state was failed completely in providing education to masses.

The CJP then adjourned the hearing till Wednesday.
