Quetta (August 8, 2017): Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar said on Tuesday that terrorism was a conspiracy to weaken Pakistan, calling for fighting the menace jointly and with greater resolve and vigor.
Addressing a condolence reference held in connection with the first anniversary of a suicide attack in Quetta on August 8 last year in which 74 people were martyred, most of them members of the legal fraternity, the CJP said that Pakistanis must fight the ongoing war against terrorism as a national as terrorism was posing existential threat to the country.

He added that Pakistan was not passing through a normal time as far as security was concerned. He added: “All of us must contribute in ensuring security in the country.”
“I have no words to express my grief over that horrific incident of August 8, 2017,” the chief justice said.
“The sacrifice rendered by the martyrs of the Quetta blast can never be forgotten,” he added.
The top judge said terrorism was a plague that every citizen had to stand up against for a better future for the coming generations.
“The people responsible for terror attacks in Pakistan don’t wish to see the country prospering but their nefarious designs must be thwarted with greater resolve and determination,” he added.
The chief justice commended Justice Qazi Faez Isa for his report on the Quetta attack and promised to act on the recommendations made in it.
