CJP Justice Yahya Afridi Unveils Key Judicial Reforms to KP Bar Delegation

PESHAWAR: A delegation from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Association met with Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Yahya Afridi, on Friday. The Peshawar High Court Chief Justice and the Registrar of the Supreme Court were also present during the meeting.

An official statement issued by the Supreme Court indicated that Justice Yahya Afridi provided the lawyers with an update on the ongoing judicial reforms. He highlighted that, for the first time, members of the legal community have been included in the Law and Justice Commission. 

The Chief Justice emphasized that this move aims to introduce transparent reforms within the judicial system. He also mentioned that significant decisions have been made by the National Judicial Policy-Making Committee, and a Response Committee on Enforced Disappearances has been established. Additionally, directives have been issued to the High Courts to safeguard the subordinate judiciary from external pressures.

Justice Yahya Afridi further stated that the Supreme Court is implementing a court-linked arbitration system and has begun integrating modern technology into judicial proceedings to enhance efficiency and transparency.
