CJP takes suo motu notice of trafficking of Pakistani women to Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar on Friday took suo motu notice of Pakistani women alleged trafficking to Afghanistan and selling them .   

Taking notice on a news item regarding the issue, the CJP ordered Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad to submit a report regarding the issue within three days.

A news was published in a local newspaper regarding selling of a 40-year-old woman, mother of three, hailing from Rawalpindi in Afghanistan.

As per the report innumerable women from Pakistan are sold to Afghanistan by an organised gang (more than 150 members), which does this through fake marriage deeds.

It added that in many cases women are used for sex slavery. The gang was active in Rawalpindi areas of Khana Pul, Fauji Colony and Koh-e-Noor Mills areas. The report said that an aged women, who hailed from Swabi, was involved in the heinous act, who works for an Afghanistan-based gang. The woman sells the trapped girls to Afghan agents in Jalalabad.
