Karachi: In response to the rising threat of mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue and chikungunya, the Deputy Commissioner East, Abrar Ahmed Jaffar, has taken special interest in addressing the situation in Essa Nagri—one of Karachi’s most undeserved areas.
The area has been grappling with alarming health challenges, particularly among children who are suffering from high fevers, severe stomach pain, and persistent vomiting caused by these diseases.
The unclean and unsanitary environment, coupled with stagnant water, has created an ideal breeding ground for mosquitoes, further endangering the health and lives of residents.
To combat this public health crisis, an intensive sweeping and cleaning campaign has been launched.
This initiative aims to eliminate garbage, stagnant water, and other unhygienic conditions that contribute to the spread of mosquito-borne illnesses.
These cleaning activities are expected to play a significant role in reducing the risk of life-threatening diseases and improving overall community health.
