CM Punjab decide to follow model of Japanese police in Punjab

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Minister Maryam Nawaz has decided to equip Punjab Police with infrared and ultrasonic technology on the model of Japanese police

The Punjab police will be equipped with the system to manage traffic, control accidents and inform the public about weather conditions in advance. In first phase, a pilot project will be launched in Lahore. The Chief Minister will formerly launch the implementation of the project upon returning from her visit to Japan. The CM Maryam Nawaz visited the head office of the National Police Agency (NPA) in Tokyo, she inspected various departments of the agency. She was briefed about the supervisory body of the Japanese police system.

Punjab CM stated this after getting briefing about working of Japanese police. She was told that NPA oversees the performance of Japan’s Imperial Guards and all departments of the Japanese police are affiliated with the NPA. The National Police Agency also determines the departmental policies of the Japanese police. The National Public Safety Commission is the supervisor of the Japan’s NPA. 

The NPA also provide guidance to all the other security departments during the emergency situation and natural disasters. The CM Maryam, appreciated the National Police Agency system. The Chief Minister said that the law and order situation in Japan is ideal, the Punjab police is also being modernized and they have been given the freedom to work in professional manner.

The CM Maryam Nawaz said that a new Crime Control Department (CCD) has been established to assist the Punjab police and eliminate crimes. The situation of Punjab’s law and order have improved due to CCD. After the establishment of the CCD, for the first time the crime graph in Punjab has come down below 70 percent.
