PESHAWAR: The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, announced the change of name for South Waziristan Upper District to Mahsud Waziristan.
In Peshawar, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur attended a talent award ceremony organized by a social organization.
The ceremony was attended by Senator Dost Mohammad, provincial ministers, members of the National and Provincial Assemblies, and tribal elders.
The Chief Minister announced the renaming of South Waziristan Upper District to Mahsud Waziristan. He also announced granting additional sub-divisions to the Ladha sub-division and elevating Kangiram to the status of a tehsil.
