CM Punjab announces stipends for 65,000 prayer leaders in Punjab

LAHORE: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz of Punjab has revealed plans to provide stipends to 65,000 prayer leaders across the province.

During a high-level meeting focused on law and order in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz directed the provincial administration to prioritize citizen facilities and address public grievances swiftly. She issued a stern warning that any negligence by officials would face strict consequences.

The CM highlighted that the decision to grant stipends to prayer leaders aims to acknowledge their important role within communities and offer financial support to them.Earlier, Maryam Nawaz led a special session on the e-business initiative, where she was given an in-depth update on the project’s current status. Satisfied with the progress, she instructed officials to prepare for the project’s official launch within the next two weeks.

She emphasized the importance of streamlining bureaucratic processes by issuing no-objection certificates (NOCs) through a centralized system and ensuring timely approvals. Additionally, all pending e-business applications will now be reviewed on a weekly basis to facilitate quick decisions. A dedicated team has been established at the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to oversee the implementation of the initiative.

Maryam Nawaz announced she would personally lead review sessions every two weeks to track progress and ensure the elimination of bureaucratic delays. She expressed optimism that e-business could bring rapid change, stating, “The greatest satisfaction is when people receive their rights without delay.”

She also highlighted Pakistan’s vast potential for growth in business and entrepreneurship. The e-business project, she said, has the capacity to transform public trust by fostering a culture of efficiency and convenience. She reaffirmed her commitment to fast-tracking the project to achieve quick results.
