Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has given a big gift on occasion of Eid Ul Fitr for farmers.
The CM Punjab has started a agriculture package under which Rs 300 billion intrests free loan will be provided to farmers in the hiatus of two years.
Under the package, agriculture machinery will be available on the rent. For the scheme Nawaz Sharif Kisan a counter will be set up in the bank of Punjab.
Senior Minister of Punjab Maryam Aurangzaib has issued details of the package.
According to the provincial minister for agriculture Ashiq Kirmani 80 percent farmers and cultivaters will be fecilitated from the package.
Modern agriculture, modern machinery, export standard milk and growth of animals source of meat will be started in Punjab, Kirmani said.
He said that agriculture self reliance path will be achieved and it will help greatly lower the inflation.
He apprised that a revolutionary project of Nawaz Sharif Kisan card is being started.
As many as half million farmers will be given interests free loans in the first phase. The small farmers having less than 12 and half acres of land will be given the Nawaz Sharif cards.
Additional Rs 100 billion will be provided in several initiatives which included subsidies, modern machineries, he said.
As a whole Rs 400 billion is being invested in Punjab agriculture field so that agriculture and farmers could grow.
