COAS Asim Munir meets British Army Chief to discuss defense, security cooperation

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Syed Asim Munir, and the Chief of the General Staff of the British Army, General Sir Charles Roland Vincent Walker, held discussions at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi today, focusing on strengthening defense and security ties.

According to the military’s media wing, the meeting centered on matters of mutual interest, regional security challenges, and ways to further deepen bilateral military cooperation. Both leaders emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration to promote peace and stability across the region.The visiting British officer expressed admiration for the Pakistan Army’s sacrifices and accomplishments in counter-terrorism operations and its efforts to maintain regional peace.On arrival at GHQ, General Sir Charles Roland Vincent Walker laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada in homage to martyrs and was accorded a guard of honor by a contingent of the Pakistan Army.

Meanwhile, COAS General Asim Munir is currently on an official visit to Jordan, where he met with King Abdullah II. The visit was part of Pakistan’s efforts to bolster regional defense partnerships.

According to the military media wing, General Munir conveyed regards from the Pakistani government, people, and armed forces to King Abdullah II and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening fraternal relations with Jordan. The Jordanian monarch, accompanied by Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, discussed issues of mutual interest, with particular emphasis on enhancing defense cooperation and regional stability.

King Abdullah expressed appreciation for the professionalism and contributions of the Pakistan Armed Forces in promoting peace and stability in the region. Both leaders agreed to work closely to expand defense collaborations and exchange perspectives on regional developments.
