RAWALPINDI: General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) in Pabbi today, where he interacted with the participants of the Pak-China Joint Exercise Warrior-VIII.
According to the military’s media wing, General Munir was briefed on the scope and conduct of the exercise, which began on November 19, 2024. The exercise, spanning three weeks, marks the eighth installment of this annual bilateral training event. The COAS commended the professionalism, dedication, and high morale of the participants, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations.
Upon his arrival at NCTC Pabbi, General Munir was warmly received by the Commander of the Rawalpindi Corps.
Earlier this month, on November 15, 2024, General Asim Munir reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to global peace and stability, affirming that the country would not align itself with any global conflict. During his address at the Margalla Dialogue 2024, organized by the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI), he highlighted Pakistan’s key role in promoting regional and global peace. General Munir pointed to Pakistan’s significant contributions to UN peacekeeping missions, with over 235,000 Pakistani peacekeepers deployed worldwide, including 181 who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of peace. The COAS’s visit to the NCTC underscores Pakistan’s continued focus on counter-terrorism cooperation with international allies and its steadfast commitment to regional stability
