Lahore: Chilly weather persists across various regions of the country, with forecasts indicating rain in northern areas.
Upper and plain areas of the country were gripped by cold, after the temperature turned negative in the northern areas of Balochistan including Quetta, the water on the pond, Joharh and roads also froze.
The temperature was recorded as minus 7 degrees in Kalat, minus 6 degrees in Quetta, while the mercury fell below the freezing point in many districts of Malam Jabba, Chitral and Dir besides Murree, Rawalkot and Gilgit Baltistan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature was recorded in Islamabad and Peshawar as minus one, four in Lahore and 12 degrees in Karachi.
