Karachi: A collision between a trawler and an oil tanker on the Native Jetty bridge in Karachi resulted into spilling of Thousands of liters of oil the road.
After the accident, citizens rushed to collect oil in drums. Several people fell and were injured due to slipping in the incident.
The track to Maripur remained completely closed. Despite the traffic police’s prohibition, citizens continued to collect oil.
The police took the trawler and the oil tanker into custody and started investigating the incident.
Traffic police officials say that there is traffic pressure, they are present to maintain the flow due to the road closure.
Heavy traffic leaving the port is on the Neti Jetty Bridge and traffic on the most important highway has been jammed for several hours since the accident on the bridge and long queues of vehicles have formed.
