Islamabad: Hundreds of Pakistani pilgrims are stranded due to worsening conditions in Syria.
According to the details, hundreds of Pakistanis are trapped in Syria and the communication with their families has also been cut off.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has activated a crisis management unit for the convenience of Pakistanis in Syria and asked the Pakistanis in Damascus and their families to contact the Pakistani embassy on WhatsApp numbers and emails. After the airport opens, the embassy will facilitate the return of Pakistanis.
Pakistani citizen said, more than three hundred Pakistani pilgrims are stuck in Syria and the situation has become difficult due to the curfew. The pilgrims include women, children and the elderly.
They said, there has been a shortage of food and the elderly have run out of medicine.
A Pakistani woman is also stuck in Syria, she told that we are not allowed to leave our hotel.
We are facing very difficult conditions. Spread the word to the government to help us and make arrangements to bring pilgrims to Pakistan soon.
