SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA: Twelve people including five men, among them the driver, and seven women were killed and 18 others were injured yesterday morning when a tour bus ran off the road and plunged into the ground in central Costa Rica.
Fifteen of the injured are in critical condition.
According to foreign news agency there were 21 passengers in the ill fated bus and all of them were retired workers of National University, the University of Costa Rica and the National Technological University.
Police say mechanical failure may have caused the crash.
The government has announced a three-day national mourning.
