Country-wide Traders Convention to be held on Oct 28 in Karachi

The traders of Punjab have summoned country-wide All Pakistan Traders convention against the government’s order of shop closure at 7 p.m. on October 28 in Karachi.

The secretary general of All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran Naeem Mir calling Sindh government’s prder to close shops at 7 p.m. oppressive which would not be obeyed. The traders in Punjab are ready to extend help to their brethren in Sindh and a nationwide Traders convention will be held in Karachi on October 28 and traders from all across the country would be invited to attend it.

The wholesale markets in cities close immediately after Maghrib prayer while only the retail markets remain open till late into the night where there is a power load shedding of 8-10 hours a day, he added.

In the past the government had failed to get the bazaars closed on designated time in the Cantonment areas and this new order would be hard to get implemented on medical stores, playlands, puncture shops, neighborhood grocery stores, he said. The federal government should take stake holders into confidence by sitting down and hold talks with them before implementing any such decision, he demanded.
