Islamabad: Special Assistant on National Health Services Dr Faisal Sultan has said the country’s anti polio efforts are yielding results as no polio case has been recorded over the last six months.
Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad on Thursday, he said this is an encouraging development and we have to ensure high quality in the future vaccination campaigns in order to completely rid the country of this crippling polio virus disease.
The Special Assistant said the anti-polio campaign is beginning in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today whilst in other parts of the country, it will commence from 2nd of next month.
He said about one hundred and eighty thousand workers will participate in the campaign under which children under the age of five years age will be given anti polio drops.
Dr Faisal Sultan asked the parents to understand the importance of these drops for the future of their children.
