ISLAMABAD: The government has announced to hold countrywide population census from March 15.
The census drive is consist of two phases and the first phase will start from March 15 to April 15, whereas the second phase will be conducted from April 25 to May 25.
First phase of the census will cover 62 out of 147 districts across the country and in the second phase, census will be held in rest of 85 districts.
Census will be held in Karachi and Hyderabad among 8 districts of Sindh in the first phase. While 21 districts of Sindh will be covered in the second phase.
In Punjab, first phase of census will cover Lahore, Faisalabad, Jhang, Bahawalpur among 15 districts and while rest of 19 districts will be covered in the second phase.
KP’s 13 districts, Balochistan’s 15 and Gilgit-Baltistan’s five districts will be covered in the first phase of census. Initial results will be prepared after two months of concluding the census.
