Court decided toshakhana case in haste: PTI counsel Ali Zafar

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Ali Zafar has announced to challenge the accountability court verdict in toshakhana reference in a high court.

Barrister Ali Zafar in his reaction over. 14,14 years jail to the PTI founding chairman Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi and imposition of a whopping fine of Rs 1.58 billion by the accountability court of Islamabad, said that the court has decided the case in a haste.

The PTI leader said that the formalities of the justice also not provided as the court not allowed cross-questioning was not allowed.

He said that the court also not provided to present witnesses in the court. He said that without recording of the accused statement the verdict can’t be pronounced.

Earlier in the day, an accountability court of Islamabad on Wednesday pronounced verdict in toshakhana case against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi, sentencing them rigorous imprisonment of 14-14 years jail term while they are also fined of more than Rs 1.5 billion while Imran Khan has been declared disqualified for any public office for 10 years.

The hearing was conducted in Adyala jail while Imran Khan wife Bushra Bibi not appeared before the court today.

Judge Muhammad Bashir questioned Imran Khan did you submit your’s statement of 342, to which, former premier replied that he has prepared his statement and present in his room and he will submit his statement after his counsel come to the court.

Judge responding on Imran statement said that you submit your statement instead of wasting the cout time?

To which Imran asked the Judge, why are in a hurry? he was cheated as he was called for only to mark the attendance. After completing his talk, the PTI chairman left the court premises.

When the court called him to return then the founding chairman refused to join the court.

The AC court pronouncing the verdict of the reference awarded rigorous 14- 14 year jail term to Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi.

As many as a whopping fine of 1.57 billion has been imposed. The court also declared Imran Khan disqualified for 10 years for any public office.

Moreover, Bushra Bibi reached the Adyala jail court so that police could arrest her.
