Islamabad (November 3, 2017): Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has assured the Senate that China Pakistan Economic Corridor’s (CPEC) western route will be completed according to the promises made in All Parties Conference (APC).
Ahsan Iqbal on Thursday told the Senate that water projects worth Rs10 billion were underway in Balochistan under the CPEC.
At this point, Balochistan’s legislators objected and said ground realities were quite different. They were of the view that the water projects worth Rs10 billion are being constructed only in papers and nothing was done on the group.
When the Deputy Chairman of the house asked Ahsan Iqbal about the ground facts, he replied that the concerned institutes were investigating into the issue.
The Senate Deputy Chairman asked that why the investigation into the water projected could not be completed since 2013? Later, he refer the issue to the concern committee.
