Muhammad Amir took retirement from international cricket in 2020, citing injustice against him by the then head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis.
But now Waqar Younis not in the board but Misbah is.
Amir’s retirement in 2020 came as a surprise to many cricket fans around the world. At the age of 28, he chose to leave the game that had brought him both fame and controversy.
In that same year, he openly criticized the then Pakistan team management, specifically the head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis, holding them responsible for the circumstances that led to his decision.
Amir expressed his discontentment with the team management, stating that their actions had “spoiled” his image.
Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq is set to return to the PCB nearly two years after he resigned as head coach of the national side.
Misbah is likely to be appointed the head of a cricket committee that will soon be formed. He will also be the advisor on cricketing affairs to the current head of the PCB, Zaka Ashraf.
