FAISALABAD: Counter Terrorism Department of Punjab Police on Sunday killed two terrorists and arrested four others in an encounter in Faisalabad. An inspector was martyred and four other personnel were injured in the encounter.
The CTD conducted a raid in Mamu Kanjan area on the information about presence of terrorists in the area. Seeing the police party, the terrorist opened fire which led to an encounter wherein two terrorists were killed and four other arrested. Inspector Fida Hussain embraced Shahadat while four other personnel including DSP Asif Joya were injured in the encounter.
One of the terrorists was identified as Zeesha alias Shani.
Police said that the terrorists were present in shanties who were provided shelter by one Fahim Jhaker. On the information that explosives could be present in the hideouts, BDS was called in.
Following the encounter Police is carrying out search operation in the area to arrest accomplices of the terrorists. Additional contingents of police and Elite Force have been called in as the area falling in the jurisdiction of Harpa Police station of Sahiwal District on other side of River Ravi has also been sealed.
