OKARA: Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has claimed to have arrested an alleged operative linked to India’s external intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), during an operation in Punjab.
According to a CTD spokesperson, the suspect was apprehended near Satghara Mor and identified as Ali Khan, a resident of Peshawar. Officials said they recovered explosive material, detonators, three batteries, two mobile phones, and both Pakistani and Indian currency from his possession. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
In a separate development, security sources said five more individuals allegedly associated with RAW were arrested during an intelligence-based operation in the Chehla Bandi area of Muzaffarabad district in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
The operation was jointly carried out by Pakistani security agencies, including the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), following intelligence reports about suspected activities in the area.
Sources said authorities seized laptops, mobile phones and other electronic communication devices during the raids. Initial examination of the digital equipment reportedly revealed suspicious contacts and sensitive data.
During questioning, one of the detainees allegedly disclosed the location of a cache containing weapons and military equipment, which was later recovered by investigators, according to security sources.
The reported claims have not been independently verified.
